Dr Ong Yew Kwang
Dr Ong Yew Kwang is a full-fledged ENT specialist since 2008. He was awarded the gold medal in the ENT exit examination. He received his subspecialty fellowship training in Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery at the prestigious University of Pittsburgh Medical Center under Professor Carl Snyderman and Professor Ricardo Carrau. He served at the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at National University Hospital (NUH) from 2008 to 2022 and was a Senior Consultant and the Department’s Director of Clinical Service.
Dr Ong is well-versed in managing complex sinus cases, nasal polyps, nasal allergies and smell disorders. He often co-manages complex airway cases with the respiratory physicians. He has also led the endoscopic skull base service service with his neurosurgical counterparts at NUH since 2010, which manages a variety of skull base pathologies such as pituitary tumours, meningiomas and sinonasal tumours.

He collaborates with the oculoplastic surgeons to perform endoscopic tear duct and thyroid-related eye surgeries. He also helped to develop endoscopic ear surgery within the department due to his expertise in endoscopic work.
Concurrently, Dr Ong is an Associate Professor and is actively involved in teaching undergraduate medical students and postgraduate ENT residents. He has authored close to 50 publications and 3 book chapters. He continues to upgrade himself and has attained both the Masters of Medicine in Sleep Medicine and Post-Graduate Certificate in Allergy.
